Pearlescent glaze shimmers across these petite porcelain candlesticks, catching soft pinks and blues beneath hand-painted plums and scrolling gold vines. Each 10 cm form rises from a flared foot to a slim baluster and gently fluted socket, sized for standard dinner tapers. Raised enamel berries and gilt highlights give subtle texture against the glossy mother-of-pearl ground.
Stamped with a post-war Kutani seal, the pair hails from the 1950-60 export boom when Ishikawa kilns translated traditional Kutani palettes into contemporary lustreware. Their compact stature is ideal for intimate table settings, a mantle vignette, or flanking a vintage tea tray where the iridescence echoes candle-flame warmth.
