Pressed from thick, flint-clear glass, this tall 23 cm vase ripples with vertical waves that catch and stretch the light. Repeating oval “lenses” punctuate each ridge, giving the piece its affectionate Pineapple moniker while adding tactile depth. The broad, star-cut base anchors long stems or a single sculptural branch with reassuring weight.
Designed in 1965 by Jiří Zejmon for Rosice Glassworks, then part of the Sklo Union collective, the pattern epitomised Czechoslovakia’s democratic approach to Modern design—bold geometry rendered in everyday, affordable glass. Decades later the clarity, heft and optical play feel strikingly contemporary: use it for fresh florals, dried grasses or simply as a stand-alone column of refracted light.
Condition:
Very Good - glass remains clear and bright; no chips or cracks, only miniscule shelf-scuffs to base from use.
